Kitchen Assistant / Food Expo
$17/HR, Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Expected to work 15hrs per week, onsite.

This position may require work or participation in events outside of normal working hours. Non-exempt and hourly employees will be paid their regular hourly wage for all scheduled and worked hours to a maximum of 59 hours per paid period. Hours in excess of 30 hours per week require prior management approval and will be paid per Federal and State employment guidelines.
Standard Operating Hours for Showroom Bar and kitchen are Monday 7PM - 12AM, Wednesday 7PM - 12AM, Thursday through Saturday 6PM - 10PM.
Position Summary
This flex position will be responsible for consistently expediting food at a high quality. Assist in final breakdown and cleaning to maintain an orderly kitchen by following opening and closing procedures. The food expo will support the vision of the Culinary Artist and Showroom Manager.
- Reports to: Culinary Artist and ‘Showroom General Manager’
- Collaborates Closely with: ‘’Kitchen Administrator”, “Bartender’, ‘Front of House Coordinator’, ‘Event Assistant’’, ‘Technical Assistant’, Security contractors
- Supervises: N/A
- Expected to maintain a collaborative, supportive, safe atmosphere among all Motor House Arts staff, clients, and guests.

Provide Excellent Food Service and Maintain a Clean and Inviting Workspace:
- Ensures that service flow is excellent
- Helps run orders depending on the type of event that is taking place.
- Works as a liaison between the bar and kitchen staff
- Manages the incoming tickets and keeps track of them for checks and balances
- Communicates allergens, special requests, and updates for service staff
- Checks for quality before food is given out to guest
- Appropriate customer service representative for our diverse customer base
- Wash dishes and assist with cleaning at the end of service.
- Well versed in Showroom food and drink menu and able to make recommendations
- Maintain a clean workspace, follow opening and closing procedures
- Daily trash removal
- Maintain a consistent, efficient work schedule
- Acts in alignment with the strategic direction set forth by the Managing Director; collaborates with the Managing Director and SGM through scheduled and informal feedback and planning conversations within established operational roles. Supports fiscal responsibility and stewardship of organizational resources.
Meetings
Monthly All Staff Meeting (Mandatory)
Present operational updates regarding Showroom to the entire staff, create an open line of communication with full Motor House Arts team to facilitate a collaborative environment
Recurring Showroom Staff Meeting (Mandatory unless pre-approved by Showroom Manager)
To communicate bar and kitchen operations and maintenance updates to essential staff in order to maintain high quality of service and space maintenance standards
