Rawlings Conservatory seeks Horticultural Assistant

Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks Horticulture Division is hiring a Horticultural Assistant based out of the Rawlings Conservatory. This is a full-time, benefited position. Driver’s license required.

Candidates who have experience with landscaping, tropical and desert greenhouse plants, and garden design are especially encouraged to apply.

Description:

Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (1 weekend day required)
Shifts vary seasonally: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Occasional evenings & extra hours available

Duties include:

Greenhouse plant care (watering, pruning, fertilizing, sweeping)
Grounds and outdoor garden maintenance (weeding, planting, mulching, watering, string trimming, mowing)
Visitor support (occasionally work front desk, phones, gift shop, event rentals)
Winter and spring flower displays (design, install, maintain, uninstall)
