BYA Seeking After School Arts Instructors

Baltimore Youth Arts is an artist-run, nomadic, after school program that provides artistic and professional opportunities to youth, ages 12-19, in Baltimore, MD. We are seeking instructors for visual , writing , and performance classes at one or more of our three teaching sites (the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center, Thomas JS Waxter Children's Center, or the Lillian S. Classes/workshops may include: painting, drawing, printmaking, songwriting, MC writing, creative writing, poetry, and photography (limited). We are also interested in receiving workshop proposals from local artists.

All positions are temporary. Instructors will work with youth for approximately 2-6 weeks at a time. Classes may be extended based on the feedback received from participants and program budget.

  • Operate each class with BYA's values in mind
  • Track participant attendance and submit to Program Director
