The Maryland Historical Society Seeks Digital Collections and Metadata Librarian

The Maryland Historical Society seeks a full-time Digital Collections and Metadata Librarian. The position is responsible for providing leadership in the development, implementation, and assessment of metadata infrastructure, policies, and procedures to support discovery, access, management, and preservation of the Library collections. They will play a key role as the administrative owner of the Library’s and Museum’s digital asset management and preservation system.

Gallery Relief Officer - Part Time

The Walters Art Museum has an immediate part time opening for a Part Time Relief Gallery Officer to work from Wednesday thru Sunday from 11:00am to 3:30pm in the Security Department. The incumbent will have responsibility for providing security for the Museum’s collection and Special Exhibitions by patrolling the galleries as assigned. Reporting to the Dayshift Gallery Supervisor, the individual will have the following responsibilities:

Gallery Security Officer

The Walters Art Museum has an immediate opening in our Security Department for a Gallery Officer on the dayshift; core work schedule is 9:15am to 5:15pm, Wednesday through Sunday. The individual will have responsibility for preparing the galleries for daily operation, monitoring activities in the Museum and implementing museum procedures as needed.

Responsibilities:

Digital Imaging Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Imaging and Intellectual Property, the Digital Imaging Specialist supports the creation of digital assets using multiple strategies and driven by institutional strategic priorities. The Digital Imaging Specialist operates the mobile photography setup, photographing all gallery installations, rotations, focus shows and special exhibitions.

  • Responsible for object movement and retrieval for all areas of the museum including off site
  • Responsible for installation/de-installation of collection & loans in galleries
  • Assist with loading and unloading of crates to & from delivery trucks
  • Works with registrars to retrieve frames from offsite storage

General Gallery Maintenance

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance plays a critical role in the 21st-century museum environment. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Director of Finance supports: support the museum’s strategic planning goals and initiatives; by leading and managing all day-to-day finance operations; and ensure. S/he ensures compliance and integration of best practices in the areas of: finance and accounting systems; policies and procedures; and financial data analysis and forecasting. The Director of Finance supervises two staff: an Accountant and a Revenue & Budget Administrator.

Baltimore Center Stage Internship/Fellowship Program

Baltimore Center Stage, a LORT B & C theater in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking administrative, artistic and production interns for 2019-20 season. Internships offer a weekly stipend, housing is provided (a studio apartment), 2 blocks from theater. The internship is for the full season, generally running from mid-August 2019 to mid-May 2020. Jubilee Arts, Program Coordinator

Schedule: Part-time position, 25 hours a week, Monday-Tuesday 2:45p-7:45pm, Wednesday-Thursday 2:45-5:45pm, remaining hours flexible to accommodate attending community meetings, events and promotional opportunities. Position is $19,500 annually and expected to start with anticipated hire date in early April 2019.

Purpose: To coordinate outreach for all Jubilee Arts programs and run daily operations of Jubilee Arts classes.

MICA Seeks Part-time BCAN Operations Coordinator

Summary of Essential Functions: The BCAN Operations Coordinator will be part of a small, dynamic team to provide administrative and operational support for the Baltimore Creatives Acceleration Network - a 10 year citywide project of the Maryland Institute College of Art that provides strategic and holistic entrepreneurship support to Baltimore’s creatives.

MICA Seeks Part-time BCAN Program Coordinator

Summary of Essential Functions: The BCAN Program Coordinator will be part of a small, dynamic team and will work closely with BCAN's Program Director to manage the BCAN Mobile: a customized vehicle that transforms into a travelling community platform for educational workshops, an artist marketplace, a performance venue, and a promotional vehicle for creative entrepreneurs in neighborhoods across Baltimore. The position requires a highly collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, nimble, and community-minded person who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Maryland Humanities seeks a Program Assistant for History Programs

The Program Assistant reports to the Program Officer responsible for coordination of Maryland History Day, Chautauqua, and Veterans programs. The position provides support and assistance to ensure effective and successful programs directed by the Program Officer. Duties include managing databases of participants, making arrangement for program events, helping with outreach, researching potential program themes, designing promotional materials, managing participant surveys, and handling various types of correspondence.

Call to Artists: Howard County Arts Council General Exhibit Program

The Howard County Arts Council, located in Ellicott City, Maryland, is seeking artwork in all media to include in upcoming exhibits. Individual artists, aged 18 & older, as well as curators and arts groups interested in presenting a group show, are encouraged to apply. Our Exhibits Committee meets quarterly to review applications and select artists for the exhibit space.

Fools and Madmen in partnership with Motor House presents:

Much Ado About Nothing

Written and adapted by Josh Thomas and Caitlin Carbone

Directed by Aladrian C. Wetzel

Casting 10 performers of color for a hip hop adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The show will tour and perform at Baltimore City Public Schools, plus one weekend of ticketed evening performances at Motor House this May 2019.

Roles are open to all genders and ages.
