Financial Manager

Joe’s Movement Emporium/World Arts Focus seeks a Financial Manager to lead the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis, as well as financial management of earned revenue, grant contracts and strategic initiatives.

The Financial Manager is responsible for daily management of operating and capital budgets for several programs and assets. The Financial Manager will also draft financial statements, presentations, charts, and dashboards for the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to develop strong financial planning and analytical skills while working at a high-impact and growth-oriented organization.

Responsibilities:

Manages a Bookkeeper.

Reviews and monitors expenditures and revenues.

Prepares effective financial reports and presents regularly to department heads.

Seeks continuous improvements in budgeting procedures and budget controls.

Conducts revenue reconciliation.

Coordinates with Development Director on grant budgets and financial reports.

Supports Executive Director in updating and maintaining the monthly financial package

which includes financial statements, reports, internal dashboard, monthly financial

performance meeting materials, and allocation analyses.

Draft meeting materials for annual budget planning.

Tracks invoices and contracts for various departments.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Minimum six years of relevant work experience. Experience in a non-profit sector is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

High level of attention to detail, strong administrative and organizational skills, and excellent communication skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, database/CRM, and accounting software required; advanced excel skills and PowerPoint skills preferred. Ability to organize, analyze, present and communicate financial data. Familiarity with financial metrics and dashboard development desired. Must be a mature, self-motivated, team player who gets along well with a variety of personality-types. Must be flexible and capable of working in a fast- paced environment with shifting and competing priorities. Extreme honesty and discretion required, with the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
