The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks Director of Prospect Research and Database Management

The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a full-time Director of Prospect Research and Database Management to oversee the BMA Advancement Division’s database and prospect management systems including policy development, data administration, reporting, technology management, and end-user training and support. This position will be part of the Advancement leadership team and assume a major role in assisting with the creation of financial and analytical reports along with implementing policies to maintain data integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and assigning prospects.
  • Developing and refining processes for operational efficiencies that maintain data integrity and support Advancement programs.
  • Design search queries, custom reports and dashboard views for the Advancement Division’s database system (Raiser’s Edge).
  • Develop and prepare highly segmented data files and reports; compile, summarize and analyze data to develop findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Maintain high data standards for constituent/donor records and assist with data imports/exports, data entry, gift processing, and support fundraising operations.
  • Prepare and monitor data for third-party integration systems.
  • Conduct workflow and business process analysis, write specifications/procedures and provide end-users with training.
  • Deliver system leadership and data management support for all functional areas of Advancement: biographical data management, gift processing, prospect management, research, annual gifts, planned gifts and major gifts.
  • Manage the Advancement Division’s systems and technology: security, troubleshooting, upgrades, monitoring roadmaps for current systems, and issuing recommendations for the procurement of software, licensing, and equipment.
  • Operate as the Advancement Division’s technology and security liaison in conjunction with the Museum’s IT and Finance departments.

This full-time, exempt position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent professional experience • Minimum of 10 year’s of system’s experience, database administration, database management, and prospect research in a not-for-profit setting • Demonstrated experience with Raiser’s Edge, systems, design, and processing of business data. • Certification in Raiser’s Edge preferred • Strong knowledge in MS Office suite • Experience with specialized report writing programs (i.e. Crystal reports/ SSRS/SQL and/or developing reports for donor databases. • Exceptional time management, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills • Experience with customer relationship management systems • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills • Preferred familiarity with Advancement operations and fundraising BENEFITS The BMA is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
