Baltimore Musicales is holding auditions for our 2021-2022 season. At this time we are only hearing singers who have been fully vaccinated.
Each concert will feature 4 singers and a collaborative pianist in an intimate hour long program followed by a reception. Past seasons have included 5 mainstage concerts and 2-3 outreach performances, and featured approximately 20 singers per season.
Audition Dates, Times, and Locations:

Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 PM
Roland Park Community Center, 5802 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210
Audition Requirements:
1 Art Song and 2 additional pieces in contrasting languages and styles (arias, art songs, spirituals, and/or musical theater)
A brief spoken introduction for each piece (1-2 minutes) that serves as a sample of what you would share with your concert audience (for example, date of composition, details about the composer, poet, historical significance, or interesting anecdote related to the piece)

Send bio, headshot, and proof of vaccination to [email protected] by August 14, 2021. Sound/video clips are optional but encouraged. Indicate your preferred audition city: Baltimore or Silver Spring. You will receive an email confirming your audition time.
A pianist will be provided at no charge.
Mainstage Musicales are typically performed on Sundays at 6:30 PM in Baltimore. Each artist performs approximately 15 minutes of music per one hour concert. Time commitment is approximately 6 hours total (2 working rehearsals, final dress rehearsal, and performance). Pay is $300.
Outreach Concerts are performed throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County and typically require 1-2 rehearsals plus performance (3-4 hours total). Pay is $150-$200.
