KITCHEN ADMINISTRATOR (Interim)

The Kitchen Administrator is expected to work 20hrs/wk on average. On-site. 3 admin days, 1 service days. (subject to change) This position may require work or participation in events outside of normal working hours. Non-exempt employees will have the opportunity to have flexible hours, per policy, and approved by their supervisor.. Non-exempt and hourly employees will be paid their regular hourly wage for all scheduled and worked hours to a maximum of 58 hours per paid period. Hours in excess of 29 hours per week require prior management approval and will be paid per Federal and State employment guidelines.
Standard Operating Hours for Showroom Bar are Tuesday-Saturday 6-10PM.
Reports to: Showroom General Manager (SGM).

Position Summary
The Kitchen Administrator supports the SGM's administrative responsibilities including kitchen specific staff training, staff scheduling, inventory, and record keeping. The Kitchen Administrator is responsible for all administrative functions for the kitchen and the SHOWROOM. The Kitchen Administrator will ensure quality and safety controls (including permit compliance, fire codes, personnel safety) as it relates to the kitchen of the Showroom.

The Kitchen Administrator coordinates scheduling, ordering, and documentation to keep daily operations running smoothly and on budget. They also maintain systems for sanitation, inventory, and communication so the culinary team can focus on consistent, high-quality service.
Administrative and Financial Functions:

Maintain a consistent, efficient work schedule for Kitchen Staff

Assist the “SGM” (Showroom General Manage) in managing inventory, matching stock and consumables to invoices, and order supplies including supplies and produce

Maintain 86 list through Slack and consistent communication of inventory needs with the SGM.

Maintain a detailed list of items and equipment to improve kitchen performance and efficiency

Conducts regular inventory of kitchen supplies

Create effective staff schedules for kitchen staff

Conduct kitchen inventory check bi-weekly

Print all necessary documents for kitchen including menus and signage available onsite (e.g. cold case, kitchen open/closed, wayfinding)

Keep storage areas neat and organized

Assist SGM with developing conditions and practices that support the Motor House ecology

Maintain digital platforms that relate directly to revenue and sales (e.g. TOAST and Grubhub)

Acts in alignment with the strategic direction set forth by the Managing Director; collaborates with the Managing Director and SGM through scheduled and informal feedback and planning conversations within established operational roles. Supports fiscal responsibility and stewardship of organizational resources. Final determination rests with the Managing Director.
Peer on-boarding for Showroom:

Assists SGM and Culinary Artist in filing training materials for kitchen staff

Collaborates with Culinary Artist to maintain up to date training logs for individual kitchen staff

Participate in accountability measures to help ensure a safe and healthy work environment where talents, skills, and cultural competencies are valued
Quality and Safety Controls:

Informs Facilities Assistant of work orders, supply orders, and malfunctioning equipment

Prepares and conducts walkthroughs with health department as needed

Maintains fire safety guidelines

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year, hands-on experience in a food service environment.
Alcohol Awareness and ServSafe certification (ServSafe Food Handler & Food Manager required).
If not already certified, Motor House Arts will be required within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged standing.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
