The Robert W. Deutsch Foundation seeks Communications Manager

The Robert W. Deutsch Foundation is seeking an energetic and resourcefulCommunications Manager to create and manage a digital strategy in support of the mission and goals of the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation and The Motor House, an arts hub in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District scheduled to open in late 2015.

This position will be responsible for co-creating and executing communication strategies that harness traditional media outlets and social media platforms, to attract and engage with targeted arts- and non-arts communities alike.

The position will entail occasional special event planning and management, and some office administrative duties.

Responsibilities

•Regularly update Deutsch Foundation and Motor House websites with new content

•Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action

•Regularly research, write, and publish Deutsch Foundation blog posts

•Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community

•Create editorial calendars and schedules

•Build and execute social media strategy through research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification

•Continuously improve communication strategy by capturing and analyzing appropriate data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

•Collaborate with Deutsch Foundation staff, Motor House leadership, and Foundation grantees and Fellows to identify upcoming events and opportunities, and coordinate communication strategies

•Research, write, and send semi-annual Motor House e-newsletters

•Plan, promote, and manage occasional special events in support of the Foundation

•Other duties as assigned

Requirements

•Proven work experience in social media

•Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), and communication skills

•Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tool knowledge

•Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, and SEO

•Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels

•Positive attitude, detail oriented, with good multitasking and organizational ability

This is a full time position based in Towson, Maryland.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
