Jubilee Arts seeks Teaching Artists

We have teaching openings at Jubilee Arts! We are looking for a drawing, screen printing, African dance or drumming and a Hip Hop instructor. Applicants must have at least one year of teaching experience. Dates, details and job description below.

Jubilee pays $30 an hour.

TEACHERS NEEDED:

Drawing Instructor

Mondays, 3:30-5:00pm

January 11 to May 9

Ages 6 to 11

· Create a dynamic and transformative 16 week curriculum covering basic drawing techniques through engaging multi-week projects
· Incorporate the Jubilee Arts theme into curriculum
· Create a safe and structured environment and manage all classroom discipline needs
· Prepared to teach a well planned lesson each week with no exceptions
· Arrive at Jubilee Arts on time each week
· Supervise clean-up and ensure the cleanliness and care of materials and studio
· Attend an end of session celebration and presentation of artwork youth create in your class
· One year of teaching experience with elementary school youth required

African Dance or Drumming Instructor

Wednesdays, 3:30-5:00pm

January 13 to May 11

Ages 6 to 11

· Create a dynamic and transformative 16 week curriculum covering basic African dance techniques
· Teach and prepare a youth for two performances one in April and the other in May
· Incorporate the Jubilee Arts theme into curriculum
· Create a safe and structured environment and manage all classroom discipline needs
· Prepared to teach a well planned lesson each week with no exceptions
· Arrive at Jubilee Arts on time each week
· Supervise clean-up and ensure the cleanliness and care of materials and studio
· One year of teaching experience with elementary school youth required

Hip Hop Dance Instructor

Tuesdays, 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 11 to 13

· Create a dynamic and transformative 16 week curriculum covering basic Hip Hop techniques and performance readiness
· Teach and prepare a youth for two performances one in April and the other in May
· Incorporate the Jubilee Arts theme into curriculum
· Create a safe and structured environment and manage all classroom discipline needs
· Prepared to teach a well planned lesson each week with no exceptions
· Arrive at Jubilee Arts on time each week
· Supervise clean-up and ensure the cleanliness and care of materials and studio
· One year of teaching experience with middle school youth required

Screen Printing Instructor

Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 11 to 13

· Create a dynamic and transformative 16 week curriculum covering basic screen printing technique and process
· Prepare youth to produce screen printed T-shirts or similar item at a high level to be sold on Jubilee Arts online site and other opportunities
· Work in collaboration with the Youth In Business coordinator to produce and sell youth produced products
· Create a safe and structured environment and manage all classroom discipline needs
· Prepared to teach a well planned lesson each week with no exceptions
· Arrive at Jubilee Arts on time each week
· Supervise clean-up and ensure the cleanliness and care of materials and studio
· One year of teaching experience with middle school youth required
