Baltimore Concert Opera seeks Company Administrator

Baltimore Concert Opera seeks confident, detail-oriented, energetic applicants for the position of Company Administrator. This position is part time. The Company Administrator works closely with, and reports to, the Executive Director.

General information:
Baltimore Concert Opera is entering its sixth season of producing intimate, affordable concert operas at the Garrett Jacobs Mansion in the heart of Mount Vernon. Vibrant, sold out audiences are the norm at BCO, whose mission is to capture the essence of opera: the connection between the audience and the human voice.

Hours/Compensation:
15 regular office hours per week, 48 weeks per year, plus production duties as needed; $16-$20 per hour (commensurate with experience)
15 regular hours per week at our office in The Engineers Club, and off site duties as needed (deliveries, pick-ups). Additionally, during BCO’s four productions throughout the season, the Company Administrator works at all performances (two per production) and some rehearsals (usually two per production).

Qualifications:
Interest in, and ability to speak confidently about, opera
College degree
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Smartphone
Car and valid driver’s license
Microsoft Office experience required
QuickBooks experience a plus
Previous basic accounting experience desired, ability to learn accounting basics a must

Responsibilities:
Process and prepare all donations and corresponding thank you letters (weekly)
Manage patron relations, process ticket orders (Answer patron telephone calls during designated office hours each week, monitor voicemail messages/return & track calls)
Manage office, track inventory, order supplies, maintain office equipment
Coordinate bank deposits and payroll/accounting
Arrange artist housing and travel
Act as liaison between artists and BCO management (prime contact in artist communications)
Assist with program booklet production as needed
Post print and web advertising as needed
Assist with large mailings (coordinate with printer and mail house)
Grant research, fundraising assistance, donor management
Other duties as delegated by the Executive Director
